The movies are public domain ones collected from around the web, so the quality varies — but often it's bad. Their copy of "Black Sabbath" (which I'm not even sure is public domain) appears to have been collected from YouTube, as it is sped up and has a big lens flare overlaid in the middle (the sorts of things done to evade copyright enforcement). This is no way to present a movie, especially in a paid app.
I bought this on AppleTV to stream Walter Hill’s difectorial debut, Hard Times starring Charles Bronson. It was the worst steaming visual quality, bar none, that I have ever seen. Completely unacceptable. Washed out, and it looked like someone was pointing a bright light at the TV screen. I deleted the app immediately and will try to get my purchase refunded.
When you also consider that the quality on most of the things I've looked at is super low (literally defective rips in some cases) and that the shows they advertise is having they often only have one episode of, it seems even more like a scam. bait and switch to be specific. To make matters worse Apple's "Report a Problem" function will not allow a refund to be requested on this app. Suddenly, I feel like I'm shopping on an Android phone, on the Google play store. It's disappointing that Apple allowed this on the App Store and further disappointing that they do not take ownership of it being there by not offering refunds.
As a longtime user of this app (literally, since the beginning), I’d have to say this most recent update—with its revamped UI and many bug fixes—is one for the books! It took me about a minute (on my tv) re-train my muscle memory on the new UX, but once I learned the layout, it was smooth sailing once again. I also love how these classic gems are randomly posted front and center so you can always find something new. And, I never thought I see the day… Classix on Watch! Funny enough, the day the update came out, I was somewhere that I had to wait longer than expected, and my phone battery was low. I usually play games or use the WatchTube app… but, that day, I was able to stream some 30’s “classix” right from my watch. I gushed with glee! LOL 😁 The classix never die!

Why are the endings of the movies cut off? Makes no sense. I can forgive a lot, but I want to know how the movies conclude
A few years ago, I paid $3, I could watch everything. Now I have to pay $8 to watch everything?? Wth was the point in the first payment?? Is this your business practice, raise prices, ignoring what WAS paid?? I understand for live tv, but everything is locked. Pretty crappy if you ask me 😡
Yesterday I was watching Frankenstein and the video worked fine, but now when I try to watch anything, there’s a crossed play button saying that I can't watch the video and it exits me out of the player. Could you please fix this in your next update?
I've just discovered this app and overall, I like it quite well. My only issue is that it needs work on accessibility with voiceover. Please remember that visually impaired people enjoy Classix as well. Visual aspects could be improved with verbal descriptions. audio description could be added to movies and TV shows.
This app just has public domain stuff. That doesn't seem bad right? Well to access most of it you have to pay for a costly subscription, and you're paying for stuff that's already available elsewhere for free. What a ripoff.
The picture quality of the films is so blurry I can barely tell who’s who and there are chunks missing from the beginnings and ends of movies. Do not buy this
I was waiting to see if the developers would do an update before buying a subscription but since they haven’t done anything to improve the app I’m deleting it. About 90% of the time it’s not accessible and even when I can watch a movie it freezes. Too bad because I prefer the older movies

This app doesn’t load anything in the ipad app or the Apple TVOS app. When I click on the link for “App Support” it links to an unavailable page. Sketchy.
Just tried to download and it freezes right off the bat. I tried it with and without Norton’s VPN neither allowed the app to work. I have the latest update of IOS 17.1.1. The support page address is invalid. Norton reports as an unsafe site. I have deleted the app I hope you do too.
Poor quality, visual artifacts and dead spots on recordings as well as mis matched titles not worth the $7 cost. Requested a refund immediately after purchase.
This worked a few times on my Apple TV device. Now none og the shows in my list will not play. The shows chosen from the guide play though.
Soon after I paid the $8 to watch these terrible quality movies, my card was compromised and had to order a new one. When I sad terrible quality, I mean absolutely terrible. Sometimes the aspect ratio of the videos are completely out of wack, some of these movies you can find for free on YouTube and that will have a way better quality. When you go back to resume where you left off, it just starts the movie all over again. It’s honestly not even worth the $8.
It used to work perfect and it was my favorite thing in life. So much awesome content. now many videos I save won’t play. Same phone same app same everything

Don’t upgrade. There is no way to upgrade to Classix+ on the Home Screen. That link is hidden on the movie description pages. When that button is pressed, the app crashes. Pressing on the My Account crashes the app. When I upgraded to version 4, My List had disappeared. It used to be a good app. Gone down hill.
Love being able to view old movies/shows but the most recent update broke the Account section of the settings. App crashes whenever I attempt to access it.
I like the idea of a streaming service for old movies and tv shows, as I love those. But this App doesn't work at all anymore. Like literally just a blank loading screen the whole time. I think the app died.
I just purchased the $3.99 version. Opened the app, and all I got was a loading icon and nothing happened. I deleted and reinstalled the app, still nothing.
Works fine on iPhone, but I get no controls when I play anything on my iPad. Can’t even pause, I have to force quit the app then when I reopen and play the same thing it starts from the very beginning.
I recently downloaded the Classix App on my iPhone, and for some reason there are no controls once a movie starts. There appears to be no interface to pause the movie or skip to a certain time. While its playing, I can only watch the movie from start to finish. If I want to stop the movie, I have to close out of the app entirely. I've tried updating my phone and the app to no avail. I also tried to submit a ticket on the help website about this, but each time I try I get a message saying that I'm restricted from accessing that page. I don't know how else to contact Classix about this issue other than from here. Hopefully they see this.

All of a sudden, this app is not loading. I’ve tried deleting it and reloading the app numerous times with no success. I’ve searched for where I can get assistance, however, I cannot find anything. Does anyone know how to contact someone at this app?
Purchased the app and all I get is a blank screen! States Not authorized to leave a ticket! No way to get a refund!
I put a ticket in but the problem stays the same and nothing is fixed
March 2023 latest version 3.14, choose a movie and nothing, just a blank screen, cannot submit a ticket so sadly I cancelled my subscription. It was really great when it worked.

Looks like all the other public domain movie sites, even though many aren’t public domain titles. Absolutely terrible video quality. If you love movies, steer clear of this one.
I now have access to old movies when there was real actors and not bland cookie cutter clones
Updated to version 3.10 just now, September 2022. It loads and immediately quits. It's not even a force quit; it exits on its own. Deleting and redownloading from the app store doesn't fix it. Rebooting iphone doesn't fix either. I reported this problem here with version 3.6 in January. The following month February had two new versions 3.7 and 3.8, but neither of them fixed the problem. Now 6 months later, the new version still won't run. Totally useless app and useless company to not fix it. Look at all the other reviews with the same problem. Movie listing apps should pull their Classix listings. I think they're purposely releasing an app that doesn't work just to get people to subscribe to AppleTV+ because Classix is available there. Likely an agreement with Apple; you can blame them too. I'm not biting that rotten apple.
Because of the library. It’s a good library. But there are problems: 1. No closed captions. I have a father who wears hearing aids, but often has difficulty understanding dialogue. My mother also has some difficulty. Captions have helped out enormously over the years. But there is no option for that here. That’s a big downside, because they’re cutting out a large portion of people who benefit from captions. Please fix this. 2. Casting issues. When I select a movie to cast, the selected movie doesn’t cast. Rather, a different one casts. And, when I turn on my device and select the casting icon, it interrupts the movie and starts it over from the beginning…even while the movie is playing. Did any of that make sense? No? Well, this problem doesn’t make sense either, and gives this app the feeling that it’s temperamental. Fix these issues, and you’ll have a lot of people swarming to this app in the future.
The streaming quality is horrible. Not even worth the inexpensive investment. It’s virtually unwatchable. On iPad, phone or TV. Come on, man!
I paid for this app when it was only 1.99!!! Why should I have to pay again for something I already have? Then there are movies with a lock on it. Why is that? This is not cool!! I gave a five star because I love old movies and this app has what I like!!! You guys are wrong for that. Now I can’t get it to play through the app on my iPhone mini pro 13 !
The app lives up to the name; you get a curated collection of great classic movies and TV shows; presumably public domain. I noted though that getting a membership on iOS does not transfer to the web app or Android. If you get a membership through the web though, it gives you access to the web & Android versions.

Please, please enable closed captions for all the movies and shows. I spent the $4 and my father was so excited to have his favorite classics, however, he is deaf and there are no closed captions. PLEASE!
